Helen specialises in developing people in management and leadership roles and has been facilitating workshops in this field for over 15 years. Her passion is to deliver engaging training that gets people thinking differently and that creates immediate solutions that can be put into action.
Over the past few years executive boards have engaged Helen to help create their strategy and vision through facilitated sessions and development days. Her experience as a coach also comes into play when developing senior executives as a continuing part of a programme.
Her clients describe her style as “challenging- but in a good way” and “gets to the heart of issues and finds practical solutions”.
With a background in both commercial and HR roles, Helen brings this experience to her sessions to ensure that the learning is always aligned to the business and has real value for money.
An advocate of CPD, Helen is often to be found attending seminars and workshops herself to develop her skills, enhance the company offering and to stay fresh in her approach.
Helen has been a professional coach for over 15 years and has extensive experience working with senior management teams and board directors. She is one of a few coaches accredited at Master Executive level in the UK.
Her corporate experience spans over 25 years with her last role as Head of Learning and Development for Haymarket Magazines.
In addition to that she helps companies create learning cultures and set up coaching academies to allow corporates to develop their own internal schemes and create lasting behavioural change.
Helen believes that coaching helps to facilitate change and accelerate learning to improve performance. Her approach is to use tools and techniques that are bespoke to the individual and to create thinking space, a real commodity in these challenging times.
Over the last 15 years Helen has worked with a variety of sectors including banking, pharmaceutical, engineering, retail and has a particular specialism in media. Her clients include WPP, ITV, SAB Miller, GlaxoSmithKline, OC&C, News UK, The Carbon Trust, Publicis Groupe, Conde Nast, JC Decaux, Mediacom and many more.
The coaching needs differ from person to person but recent assignments include: creating 100-day strategies, building confidence and influencing skills, transition coaching into a board position and leadership coaching as part of a programme.
Helen is passionate about the positive effects that coaching can have and this is reflected in her energy, focused approach and commitment to the industry.
Qualified to use a variety of tools including the MBTI, Saville Consulting suite of psychometrics, creativity and EI tools and The International Profiler (TIP). Helen has regular supervision and completes around 80 hours of CPD each year.
Helen was Vice Chair for the Association for Coaching, the largest coaching body in the UK. She is also a member of the EMCC, the BPS and Chartered Fellow for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. In 2014 she was Conference Director for the AC and Chair for the CIPD’s annual coaching conference, as well as being a judge for the British Media Awards. She is also a board director of Mentoring Digital Minds where she provides development for the mentors in a rapidly growing market.
